The artist residency will transform the Workshop Foyer in the Gallery into an unconventional studio space featuring drawings on glass windows, paper, canvas, and cloth. This studio space will allow Natasha to delve deeply into her artistic research and practice and provide an avenue for her to share her creative processes with the community. Reflecting her Bengali heritage, Natasha shall create drawings that intermingle patterns from Kantha embroidery with medical diagrams of neural networks and circulatory systems in human anatomy. The resulting patterns of free-flowing lines resembling rhizomatic roots and tree branches will poetically reflect the unseen flow of energy found in nature and human creativity.
