View the Superpowered on Tour display. Join in activities and workshops. There are 4 fun interactive activities for kids. The free activities have been developed by Indigenous Australian artists in collaboration with the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA).
Tony Albert (Girramay/Yidinyji/Kuku Yalanji peoples), Gordon Hookey (Waanyi people), Vincent Namatjira (Western Aranda people) and Kaylene Whiskey (Yankunytjatjara people) are leading Indigenous Australian artists who use their voice and their art to empower Aboriginal people and create inspirational imagery for all children.
The display and activities will be available at the following 3 libraries from January until April 2023: Logan Central Library (January - February), Beenleigh Library (March 2023) and Logan North Library (April 2023).
You can come to the library to work on an activity, or take home an activity pack with materials and ideas to complete at home. Limited stock so be quick to collect your pack.
Each library will also host a special Superpowered on Tour Kids Club activity. Bookings at the Kids Club activities are essential.
Renowned Waanyi artist Gordon Hookey will also visit Logan Central Library on Saturday 25 February. His work is best known for its biting satire of Australian culture and politics, its witty critique of racism, and an exploration of oral and image-based history-making traditions. Gordon will yarn about his art and do a reading of his picture book, The Sacred Hill, which features in Superpowered on Tour.
