Event Type: Cultural Celebration Age Group(s): Adults, Seniors Date: 16/09/2022 Start Time: 10:00 AM End Time: 12:00 PM Description: Join Maureen Mopio and her PNG sisters as they take you on a magical weaving journey. Walking the pathways of aunties, grandmothers and ancestors, learn about Mekeo Vea Weaving. This is an ancient form of string bag weaving from Papua New Guinea. Whilst weaving Maureen and her sisters will tell the story of how women make their Vea or string bags. Maureen will talk about the colourful designs and the stories behind the tribal designs and patterns.
